Sibrydion Cymuned is a local magazine covering a growing area in South Snowdonia. We aim to provide an essentially local focus and include content with integrity.
The magazine is delivered to every house in 7 villages (Penmaenpool, Arthog, Fairbourne, Friog, Llwyngwril, Rhoslefain and Llanegryn.) It is also distributed around the surrounding towns and other villages, but not delivered to each house (Dolgellau, Dinas Mawddwy, Corris, Machynlleth, Talyllyn, Bryn Crug, Tywyn, Aberdyfi).
The magazine is funded purely by the advertisements, which our readers value as they are mainly local tradesmen and businesses. The magazine is read thoroughly and kept as a source of reference, whereas the local newspaper is skimmed through and discarded..
We have testimonials from our readers and advertisers:
owners of a holiday home in Llwyngwril we have found Sibrydion to be a valuable
link with the local community both in terms of the many activities that take
place in the village and surrounding area but also as a source of contacts for
local goods and services, a facility we have already used on several occasions.
This is particularly helpful as we are not resident in the village"

Line Dancers regularly use Sibrydion Cymuned to publicize their events, as we
know from experience just how much the magazine is used by local people (we
know because we all use it!). The magazine is great for finding out about
regular and new leisure activities taking place, local pubs and restaurants as
well as finding out telephone numbers for local trades people. Added to
this the articles are also extremely interesting. A great little
January 2010 20:15, CLIFFORD ARTHUR VILLA : Sibrydion is very important
Magazine for the surrounding community. It is a good way of informing everyone
of events and activities now, or forthcoming, also a reference for finding
local trades people shops etc.
As an organizer of the Saturday Tea Dances and member of the Fairbourne
Dance Club (every Wednesday’s,Sequence Dancing),it is a very good for giving
anyone interested in dancing, dates for their diary.
I am very
happy to say how helpful it is to have such a valuable and effective way of
reaching those who are fairly local to Tywyn and the Talyllyn Railway and to
encourage them to support us. Thanks. Oh
and by the way, I really must get round to putting something in Sibrydion on
the subject of the Tywyn Wurlitzer and its regular concerts. John Smallwood
to be one of the most effective advertising opportunities for businesses and
organisations in the area, even though full house-to-house distribution
hasn't quite reached Dolgellau yet. It is the type of publication
people hang on to, and reach for when they need local information...and at
£2.50 a week to the advertiser it's great value.Richard Paramor, Theatr Fach,
I Just had to
write to you about the Sybrydion Cymuned . It is one of handiest books to have
around the home. The information in it, I have found very
useful especially for contact phone numbers for local business and retail
outlets. It is also a great help to keep up with church services and all local
activities in the community in fact a very valuable all round informative
magazine. I have also found it to be educational with so many interesting
articles. Thank you for all your efforts I can assure you it is very much appreciated. Jean Pike Church Warden, Fairbourne
magazine is a very welcome one, especially as it is delivered to every home in
the area. It is full of interesting articles, and news about what is
going on. It is very professionally put together, and I am sure everyone
who receives a copy, keeps it for reference. I appreciate this very
much. I know you put a lot of time and effort into it. Barbara Snowball Arthog
The Golf Club supported the original
Parish Magazine as we felt that as we are a 'Community Project’, we should
support the Parish and inform all the Parishioners of the facilities that are
on offer. We were disappointed when the publications ceased, but were delighted
when Debbie ASHTON and her team launched 'Sibrydion'. We are very pleased
in the response that we have received to our advert and the summer visitors who
read the magazine often say 'we saw your advert in the ‘Sibrydion'. Long
may it continue.

Just a few lines to say that we have found Sibrydion
Cymuned an excellent source of information to locate local trades-people and
have found the advertisers to be helpful and dependable. The editor is
supportive and creative. It’s a great community resource and I am now
advertising in it myself and have had a few responses from my first ad. Viv Hinks Tal y llyn

My wife and I
have a static caravan in Wales and spend as much time as we can there. While in
the Dovey Inn last week we came across your excellent community newsletter and
would like to receive a pdf version by E Mail if at all possible.
You have a community magazine with integrity, interesting
content and a strong local focus. Peter Saunders OBE
